Tying your shoelaces.
The simple daily activity is getting complicated day
by day. Companies are making the laces longer and the drilling in more
‘eyelets’ than one can count. Some smart guys have even a full-extended page on
shoelaces on Wikipedia (an why the hell, I was looking for it!)
The two ways to ties a shoelace:
1. You bend down
and reach for the feet: Top-Down Method
A very awkward position but we have managed to get to
it. My childhood was shoes, not flip flops or sandals but black, sometimes
sporty shoes. I felt comfort in wrapping my feet in some light or warm socks
depending on the season, but shoes were a must. I have some difficulty for
doing the same action, now that I have a pouch- yes, I am pear shaped and the
activity has become pain in my, well back.
2. You get the feet
to the hands. Down-Top Method
Am I kidding? But that is the only way I can tie my
shoes. Look for an elevated platform or object like the seat of a chair. Yes, I
am guilty of soiling most of the public chairs and ashamed of it. What do you
want me to do? Loose weight; get some exercises done, forget it man. I am a man
of principles and cannot let go of my cheese.
I am feeling better getting it out of my chest. Lets
see how to waste some time from my busy day, look at shoe humor.
